Marc Veasey was born and raised in Tarrant County and has lived in Fort Worth almost his entire life. As a child, Veasey lived in Como, Stop Six and Polytechnic Heights and he is a graduate of Arlington Heights High School. Veasey also earned a degree from Texas Wesleyan University, where he studied Mass Communication.

Representative Veasey was elected to represent Texas House District 95 in November of 2004. Since being sworn in, Veasey has earned a reputation as someone who works hard to be visible in his community and to be responsive to his constituents. Increasing access to quality, affordable health care, as well as fighting for public schools and local economic development have been the focus of his legislative agenda.

In 2005, Veasey was successful in passing two amendments that allowed access to government support for Grandparents that were raising abused or neglected children.  In addition, he expanded the law to provide assistance to Grandparents that were legal guardians of multiple grandchildren in the same home.

Representative Veasey has been a leader in the fight to reform the Texas school finance and provide real property tax reform for the citizens of Ft. Worth. He currently serves on the Economic Development and State Affairs committees in the Texas House.

In addition to his duties as State Representative, Marc works in the real estate industry. Prior to holding elected office, Marc worked on the staff of Democratic Congressman Martin Frost where he served as the one of the congressman's key aides in Fort Worth. He has worked at Polytechnic High School and as a part-time sports writer for the Star-Telegram and for Source Media's IT Network.

Marc is active in the Tarrant County Black Genealogical Society, the Multicultural Alliance, and various other community organizations. He also is a member of the Fort Worth Ambassadors. Marc and his wife, Tonya, reside in Fort Worth. They have one son, Adam Clayton Veasey.
